Synopsis

Set against a lush riverside landscape, the video presents Kylie Minogue as Elisa Day, a beautiful young woman whose fate is already sealed. She appears alive in a series of dreamlike images, drifting through flowers and shallow water, while Nick Cave's character sings from the perspective of the man who killed her. The imagery gradually reveals the murder ballad's tragic outcome. In the closing moments, Cave places a rose in Elisa's mouth and gently closes her eyes, turning the song's dark romance into a stark visual elegy.
