Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed in January 2002, during the period surrounding Ashanti's debut as a solo artist.

• Its visual style and crime-family storyline draw heavily from Martin Scorsese's 1990 film "Goodfellas." Ashanti and Terrence Howard occupy roles resembling the troubled married couple at the center of that film.

• Terrence Howard appears as Ashanti's boyfriend, years before his major breakthrough in films such as "Hustle & Flow" and his later television work.

• Several Murder Inc. figures appear alongside Ashanti and Howard, including Ja Rule, Charli Baltimore, Vita, and Irv Gotti.

• The clip received three nominations at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards: Best Female Video, Best R&B Video, and Best New Artist in a Video.

• The song's familiar melodic foundation comes from DeBarge's "Stay With Me," a sample also associated with The Notorious B.I.G.'s "One More Chance (Remix)." This connection helped place Ashanti's debut within a recognizable Murder Inc. and Bad Boy-era R&B lineage.
