Synopsis

U2's "Spanish Eyes" video captures the band during the first leg of The Joshua Tree Tour in 1987. Travel footage across the American Southwest shows the musicians on the road, around concert venues, and interacting with local people. Images of trains, highways, desert landscapes, casinos, and roadside stops are intercut with live performance scenes. The informal travelogue style presents U2 as restless young musicians moving through an expansive, unfamiliar America, with Bono's playful behavior contrasting with the more atmospheric desert imagery.
