Synopsis

Stone Temple Pilots perform "Lady Picture Show" inside a stylized, black-and-white world resembling an old film peep show. The band plays in a stark white room surrounded by bubbles, glittering diamonds, and other surreal visual details, while exotic dancers appear in fragmented, theatrical shots. The monochrome imagery gives the video a vintage, dreamlike atmosphere. During Dean DeLeo's guitar solo, the visual palette briefly explodes into saturated color, shifting the performance into a psychedelic meadow before returning to the stark black-and-white presentation.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The video accompanied "Lady Picture Show," the third single from the band's 1996 album "Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop."
  • "Lady Picture Show" became Stone Temple Pilots' third consecutive No. 1 single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
  • The video's visual language reflects the song's departure from the band's earlier grunge-associated image. Its lounge-like mood, ornate details, and psychedelic color break emphasize the more eclectic direction of "Tiny Music..."
  • Most of the video is presented in black and white, making the short color sequence during the guitar solo function as its main visual transformation.
  • The track later appeared on the band's 2003 greatest-hits collection "Thank You."
