Synopsis

Primus turn a simple nacho mishap into a surreal roadside spectacle. Bob Cock buys a plate of nachos at an arcade, then loses them after colliding with Larry LaLonde on a skateboard. The video cuts between the abandoned food, race cars tearing around a track, and Primus performing in front of an increasingly unruly crowd at the Phoenix Theater. As the camera closes in on the cheese, claymation creatures from the Sailing the Seas of Cheese artwork appear before a pit bull provides the final punchline.

Factoids & Trivia

• The live performance footage was filmed at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, California. Some of the race footage came from the nearby Petaluma Speedway.

• Bob Cock, a recurring Primus character, appears in the opening sequence. The character also features in the band's later "My Name Is Mud" video and in the group's early home-video material.

• The closing claymation sequence incorporates creatures associated with the cover artwork for Sailing the Seas of Cheese. Primus returned to claymation in later videos, including "My Name Is Mud" and "Southbound Pachyderm."

• Les Claypool's bass looks different here because the video captures an early version of his distinctive Carl Thompson instrument. The upper horn had not yet been added; Claypool later sent the bass back to improve its balance.

• The song was Primus' first single and received heavy rock-radio exposure in 1991. Its later inclusion in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater helped make it one of the band's most widely recognized tracks.
