Synopsis

Presented in stark black and white, the video turns Neil Finn into the unlikely hero of a vintage monster-movie fantasy. A towering woman emerges as a giantess, captures Finn, and carries him away while he appears helpless against her enormous presence. The story eventually takes an unexpectedly romantic turn, with the giantess and her captive becoming a married couple. Its deliberately rough, old-fashioned presentation gives the clip the feel of a playful B-movie parody.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video draws directly on the visual language of 1950s giant-woman movies, particularly "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" and "The 30 Foot Bride of Candy Rock." Clips from both films are incorporated into the music video.

• The song was released in 1998 as part of Finn's solo album "Try Whistling This." It became a modest chart success, reaching No. 19 in New Zealand and No. 26 in the United Kingdom.

• The clip received regular MTV exposure in the United States, where its intentionally clunky monster-movie style helped make it one of the more memorable promotional videos associated with the album.

• The 2005 Finn Brothers tribute compilation "She Will Have Her Way" took its title from the song, although the original recording is not included on that album.
