Synopsis

Howard Jones performs as a concert venue comes to life around him. While the road crew assembles the stage, Jones sings from backstage and a young girl watches the preparations. Two eccentric visitors - a martial artist resembling Daniel LaRusso from "The Karate Kid" and Charlie Chaplin's Tramp - drift through the venue, adding a playful vaudevillian touch. Once the equipment is ready, the setting transforms into a full concert, with Jones performing before an enthusiastic crowd. The Tramp eventually leaves hand in hand with the girl.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed at London's Lyceum Ballroom. Production included backstage and dressing-room scenes, footage of the stage being assembled, and repeated performance takes with the band.

• Howard Jones said he wanted to make a performance-based clip after using more conceptual ideas for his earlier videos. He characterized this one as an entertainment video rather than a literal visualization of the lyrics.

• Illusionist Simon Drake contributed magic to the production, including a "flying bottle" routine. The filming crew was reportedly sworn to secrecy about how the trick worked.
