Synopsis

Aerosmith perform on a shadowy stage while a stark narrative unfolds around Janie, a young woman trapped in an abusive home. After years of violence and sexual abuse at the hands of her father, she takes a gun and shoots him. The video then follows the aftermath through fragmented images of Janie's escape, the police investigation, and her mother's grief. Its stark black-and-white imagery, rapid editing, and unsettling close-ups give the song the atmosphere of a psychological thriller rather than a conventional rock performance clip.
