Synopsis

Two men wander into a strange, seductive forest and discover a fantastical realm ruled by Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa. The performers lure the intruders deeper into their lair with decadent treats, surreal body-shaped scenery, fiery chambers, and erotic illusions. As the visitors become trapped in a nightmarish underworld, Megan and Dua shift between glamorous, monstrous, and otherworldly forms. The video closes with Megan floating beneath a giant snake, completing its darkly playful fairy-tale transformation.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video's concept was created by Megan Thee Stallion and draws on the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel," recasting the performers as powerful figures who lure intruders into their domain.

• Much of the visual world was built around digital effects, including the unusual forest, the doorway formed by legs, flames, webs, and the giant spider imagery associated with Dua Lipa.

• The shoot took place in a large Los Angeles warehouse containing several individual sets. The production used green screens for some of the fantasy sequences.

• Megan's makeup team created five different looks for the video. The transformations included a Marie Antoinette-inspired confectionary style and a final look with sculpted diamond hair.

• The video combined practical beauty work with extensive computer-generated imagery. A 3D artist working on the project described creating animated twerking figures for the room whose walls are covered with moving buttocks.

• The visual-effects work was created by Universal Production Partners using Houdini and Maya.

• "Sweetest Pie" won the VFX/Animation craft category for music videos at the 2022 Berlin Commercial Awards.
