Synopsis

The black-and-white version of "Shine" presents the Tolmachevy Sisters as elegant twin performers moving through a series of fashion-led tableaux. Maria and Anastasiya appear separately and together, dressed in contrasting dark and light outfits, while singing and playing guitars in a studio and on a railway bridge. Factoids & Trivia

• This was the second official video made for Russia's Eurovision 2014 entry. It followed an earlier presentation-style clip released before the more fully produced black-and-white version.

• The video was filmed in Moscow for the Russian broadcaster Russia-1.

• The production uses the sisters' resemblance as a central visual idea. Their opposing black and white wardrobes were conceived as an yin-yang-style contrast, with the two halves eventually coming together.

• Styling included separate black and white outfits made up of dresses, coats, and shoes. Hats and long earrings were also used to create a more mature, fashion-oriented image for the teenage twins.

• The sisters are shown with guitars in both studio scenes and outdoor footage filmed on a railway bridge.

• "Shine" was written by Philipp Kirkorov, Dimitris Kontopoulos, John Ballard, Ralph Charlie, and Gerard James Borg.

• The Tolmachevy Sisters had already won the 2006 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with "Vesenniy Jazz." Their appearance in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest therefore marked a return to the competition at its senior level.
