Synopsis

In a suburban home, a group of children assembles a strange female figure from spare parts, junk and household objects. Their creation comes to life as Martina Sorbara, styled as a homemade superhero with a Frankenstein-like appearance. The children dress her up, dance with her and treat her as their personal invention. The playful fantasy breaks down when the adults arrive and attempt to stop the experiment, leaving behind a darkly comic ending that contrasts with the song's energetic electro-pop rush.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The video's concept was described as a blend of "Weird Science" and the Pied Piper story, with Sorbara functioning as a homemade superhero created by children.
  • Dragonette's Martina Sorbara said the children were members' nieces and nephews, making the shoot a family-centered production rather than a conventional casting exercise.
  • The deliberately makeshift design uses garage-built materials and a Frankenstein-style transformation, matching the band's description of the idea as a homegrown version of a superhero origin story.
  • The video's humor is intentionally macabre. The band's reaction to the pile of bodies seen near the end was that the sequence was meant to be funny rather than genuinely frightening.
  • The clip repeatedly interrupts its own fantasy with behind-the-scenes disorder, using visible production turmoil to make the polished music-video world feel unstable and self-aware.
