Synopsis

Ronan Keating performs "Iris" against a series of striking Dubai landscapes. The video moves between intimate shots of the singer on a beach, horseback sequences in the desert, and elevated performance footage on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab. Rather than following a narrative, it presents the song as a sweeping romantic ballad, using the contrast between open sand, bright blue water, and the futuristic hotel skyline to create a polished, escapist atmosphere.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed in Dubai in May 2006, shortly before the single's release.

• The main locations included the Burj Al Arab helipad, the desert around Bab Al Shams, and "England," one of the artificial islands in The World development off Dubai's coast.

• The Dubai shoot came about after a suggestion from Jumeirah, the hospitality group associated with the locations. Keating and his family were regular visitors to Madinat Jumeirah.

• Keating described performing on the Burj Al Arab helipad as one of the most incredible experiences of his career.

• The helipad had already been used for highly publicized stunts and events, including Tiger Woods' golf shot in 2004 and the Federer-Agassi tennis exhibition in 2005.

• Jumeirah treated the production as a one-off promotional collaboration and stated that it did not intend to make its locations routinely available for other music video shoots.

• Keating's recording is a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls' 1998 song, written by John Rzeznik. His version appeared on the 2006 album "Bring You Home."
