Synopsis
In a surreal, continuously moving shot, a child dressed as a weary businessman returns home with a poodle and faces accusations from his childlike wife. The camera swings through a bar, a television, a roadside scene, and an indoor picnic before revealing a strange school gym filled with basketball players, cheerleaders, and The Good Life performing as the house band. Light seems to radiate from the musicians and their cardboard instruments. The fantasy collapses at the end, leaving the poodle alone beneath a spotlight.
Factoids & Trivia
- The video was added to music-video promotion outlets on November 9, 2004.
- The entire clip is presented as one continuous shot, with the camera constantly swinging, rotating, and changing location to create its drunken, disorienting atmosphere.

- Digital manipulation makes light appear to shine from the musicians' hands, arms, and instruments.
- Orenda Fink of Azure Ray appears as the woman in the red dress who propositions the central character at the bar.
- The poodle acts as the video's visual anchor. It appears at the beginning in the protagonist's arms and is left isolated under a spotlight during the closing image.
- The song originated on the 2004 EP *Lovers Need Lawyers* and was also included on *Album of the Year*, The Good Life's concept album about the collapse of a relationship.
