Synopsis

Set against a series of pastel-colored studio portraits, "Turn Me Out" follows a group of stylish young adults whose everyday poses gradually give way to strange, involuntary dancing. As the hypnotic house track builds, their movements become more expressive, exaggerated, and uninhibited, blurring the line between controlled portraiture and spontaneous performance. The video turns the song's club energy into a playful visual experiment, with the characters seemingly trapped under a spell while their bodies respond to the rhythm.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video's central idea is hypnosis. The concept was developed to mirror the track's repetitive, hypnotic rhythm while giving the performers a reason to lose their inhibitions and move involuntarily.

• Choreography was created by Holly Blakey, whose work gives the dancing an intentionally awkward, unpredictable quality rather than presenting it as conventional club choreography.

• The production used pastel shades and portrait-style compositions to create an indie editorial aesthetic around a straightforward house track.

• The video was produced by Shameless, with Jake Scott as director of photography. Claire McGonigal edited the finished piece, and Marty McMullan handled the color grade at Rushes.

• Russ Chimes originally made the track as a quick DJ tool for his sets, building it around an acapella by Kathy Brown. Its strong response in clubs encouraged him to develop it into a full release.
