Synopsis

ShadowBox's "AM" follows a lone figure through a surreal, urban dreamscape built around endless escalators, stark corridors, and disorienting shifts in scale and perspective. Lyle Lodwick appears as the central presence, moving through an increasingly uncanny environment that mirrors the song's cool electronic tension and troubled atmosphere. Rather than presenting a conventional performance narrative, the video creates a hypnotic visual loop, turning the city underground into a psychological landscape where motion, repetition, and uncertainty dominate.

Factoids & Trivia

• ShadowBox is the solo project of Brooklyn singer and producer Bonnie Baxter.

• The video grew out of a short film project that had originally been edited without music. Baxter saw a connection between that footage and the themes she wanted for "AM," leading to the finished music video.

• Lyle Lodwick, who stars in the video, was already involved with the earlier film project. He is also a musician and model.

• The visual concept was shaped around the idea of a never-ending dream and a troubled psyche, which explains the video's repeated escalators and deliberately destabilizing sense of space.

• "AM" appeared on ShadowBox's 2012 Haunted By Colors EP, released through the London-based Pictures Music label.
