Factoids & Trivia
- The video was filmed in Malibu, California, on March 19, 1993.
- "I Get Around" was originally intended to be a Digital Underground song. Shock G had reportedly kept the beat for around six months before giving it to 2Pac for his second album.
- Shock G produced the track under the name The D-Flow Production Squad. The beat uses a prominent passage derived from Zapp's 1985 song "Computer Love."
- 2Pac wrote Shock G's verse for the final recording. Money B contributed and performed his own verse.
- The track became 2Pac's first single to reach the Billboard Hot 100 top 20, peaking at No. 11. It was also the most successful single from the album Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z.
- The video reunited 2Pac with the Digital Underground members who had helped introduce him to a wider audience. His first recorded appearance had come on the group's 1991 song "Same Song."
- The pool-party concept reflects the record's deliberately playful and sexually boastful tone, contrasting with the socially conscious material associated with some of 2Pac's earlier work.
