Synopsis

The video follows twin sisters from the Swedish countryside who leave home for London, hoping to find fame and fortune. Their journey takes them through Piccadilly Circus and the London Underground as the excitement of city life gives way to a darker experience. After being sexually assaulted beneath a bridge, the sisters abandon their ambitions and return to Sweden. The closing image reveals that the young boy welcoming them home is Per Gessle, adding a personal twist to the story.

• "Fireworks" was released in 1994 as the third single from Roxette's album "Crash! Boom! Bang!"

• The video was filmed in recognizable London locations, particularly around Piccadilly Circus and the London Underground. Per Gessle later recalled enjoying the London shoot.

• Gessle said that he initially wrote the lyrics as a story about two sisters. He handled the verses while Marie Fredriksson sang the chorus, giving the track a deliberately narrative structure.

• The song reached number 30 on the UK Singles Chart, making it another Top 30 hit for Roxette in Britain.
