Synopsis

Set in the Brooklyn projects, the video follows Black Thought walking through streets scattered with human bodies, creating an unsettling portrait of isolation and urban disconnection. The Roots appear in stark black-and-white imagery, while Erykah Badu performs her parts in separate scenes. As the video progresses, the boundary between what is real and what exists in Thought's mind becomes increasingly uncertain. The closing sequence reverses the visual logic established earlier, giving the song's themes of trust, absence, and emotional uncertainty a surreal conclusion.
