Synopsis

Four young performers take the stage as Queen, recreating the band's flamboyant live image while singing "The Miracle." Each child portrays one member, with the boy playing Freddie Mercury shifting through several of Mercury's most recognizable stage looks, from the late 1970s through the 1980s. The real Queen remains mostly absent until the closing section, when Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon appear alongside their younger counterparts for a playful meeting between the band's past and present.

• The video was filmed at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, England, in November 1989.

• The young Freddie is presented in four different looks associated with Mercury's career: the Harlequin-style outfit from the late 1970s, the leather period, the 1985 Live Aid appearance, and the yellow-jacketed 1986 look.

• Queen themselves appear only near the end, performing with the children rather than carrying the main part of the video.

• The production was completed shortly before the song's release as the fifth and final single from the 1989 album *The Miracle*.
