• The performance was filmed at the Top of the Pops studios on June 14, 1977, shortly after Queen's two-night stand at London's Earls Court. It was broadcast on June 16, 1977.

• Queen recorded a different arrangement of the song for the BBC appearance and then mimed to that version. This was common practice on Top of the Pops, but the arrangement makes the clip noticeably different from the album recording.

• Roger Taylor takes the vocal part originally sung by studio engineer Mike Stone during the "Hey boy" bridge.

• The song was written by Freddie Mercury and first appeared on Queen's 1976 album *A Day at the Races*. It became the lead track of *Queen's First E.P.*, released in May 1977.
