Synopsis

L7 tear through a feverish, low-fi road trip in an old Ford Econoline, with the band crammed into the van and the journey broken up by performance footage. Distorted colors, smeared images, quick cuts, and rough VHS textures turn the ordinary drive into a woozy, claustrophobic ride. The restless movement mirrors the song's frustration: no matter how far the band travels, the mood keeps circling back to the same sense of exhaustion and entrapment.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The video was made for L7's 1994 album *Hungry for Stink*, which was released through Slash Records and Reprise Records.
  • A 1971 Ford Econoline window van appears in the video, giving the clip its central road-trip image and its distinctly battered, countercultural look.
  • Contemporary trade coverage identified the production as a Squeak Pictures project, produced by Scott Shapiro and Catherine Finkenstaedt.
  • "Stuck Here Again" was included on the December 1994 edition of the music-video compilation *Telegenics 141A Progressive*, placing it in the era's alternative-video programming alongside acts such as Weezer, Bjork, and the Cramps.
  • The song was co-written by Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner. During an earlier live appearance, Sparks described its unusual guitar sound as coming from a "space alien" effect created with a new pedal.

Lyrics

I'm good at feeling bad
I'm even better at feeling worse
Some would say life is a charm
I'm convinced it is a curse

Yeah yeah i'm stuck here again
I've learned to make
Bad situations my friend
It starts all over
Just when it should end
Yeah yeah i'm stuck here again

Here comes that familiar pain again
