Synopsis

Billie Joe Armstrong performs "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" alone on acoustic guitar inside a sparsely furnished apartment. The intimate performance is intercut with a series of disconnected scenes showing people carrying out ordinary tasks while appearing distracted and emotionally distant. Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool make brief appearances among the anonymous characters, and one recurring figure helps give the video a loose sense of continuity. The restrained, observational imagery contrasts with the song's reflective lyrics and turns everyday moments into a quiet meditation on memory and passing time.

• The video was filmed in Los Angeles in November 1997, with the apartment scenes shot inside the Ambassador Hotel.

• The concept came from Billie Joe Armstrong. Rather than presenting Green Day as a full band, the video places Armstrong in an intentionally stripped-down setting and surrounds him with small, disconnected slices of everyday life.

• Mike Dirnt appears as a person pumping gas, while Tre Cool is seen as an injured cyclist being attended to by paramedics.

• The song was promoted under the inverted title "Time Of Your Life (Good Riddance)," which also appeared on the single release and in the video's title presentation.
