Synopsis

Duran Duran perform "Breath After Breath" with Brazilian singer Milton Nascimento, while the video moves between concert footage and atmospheric images filmed in South America. Simon Le Bon and Nascimento share the vocal spotlight as the band plays before an enthusiastic Buenos Aires audience. The location material expands the song's reflective mood, contrasting the intimacy of the duet with the immense natural setting of Iguazu Falls. Rather than following a conventional narrative, the clip presents the collaboration as a meeting of voices, cultures, performers, and landscapes.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Breath After Breath" appears on Duran Duran's 1993 album, commonly known as "The Wedding Album," and features Brazilian singer Milton Nascimento.

• The song developed from an instrumental demo by Duran Duran members John Jones and Warren Cuccurullo. Nascimento later supplied Portuguese vocal ideas, while Simon Le Bon wrote English lyrics.

• Nascimento and Le Bon recorded their vocal parts in London on the same day. The band later described the session as an especially inspired collaboration.

• The video combines footage from Duran Duran's concert at Velez Stadium in Buenos Aires with additional material filmed around Iguazu Falls, on the Argentina-Brazil border.

• The South American setting was particularly appropriate for the track's cross-cultural character, linking the British band with one of Brazil's most distinctive musical voices.

• A video was produced because the song was considered commercially strong enough to support further promotion, and a fourth single release was reportedly considered. It was never issued as a commercial single.

• Duran Duran's official website identifies the shoot as taking place in Argentina during the band's South American touring period.
