Synopsis

The Deftones perform from floating shark cages on Lake Piru as the video surrounds them with murky water, blood, diving imagery, and looming predators. Chino Moreno appears in an old-fashioned diving helmet, while underwater shots and stark black-and-white imagery create a threatening, dreamlike atmosphere. The band never looks comfortable in the setting: their performance feels trapped between danger and isolation. The video closes with Moreno falling into the water, leaving the song's tension unresolved.

• The production combined practical shark effects with footage of real great white sharks. The sharks seen in the finished video were not all filmed during the band's shoot.
