Synopsis

Celine Dion performs the sweeping ballad at the bow of a ship, surrounded by mist, wind, and a vast ocean backdrop. Her solo performance is intercut with romantic and tragic scenes from James Cameron's Titanic, following Jack and Rose from their first encounter through the ship's sinking and their final separation. The video connects Dion's direct, theatrical delivery with the film's central themes of love, memory, loss, and emotional survival.

Factoids & Trivia

• The performance sections were filmed in Los Angeles in front of a green screen. Background artists later created the ship and ocean setting to blend Dion into the Titanic imagery.

• Dion reportedly sang an accelerated version of the song during filming. The footage was then slowed down in post-production to create a stylized visual effect.

• The song was originally developed by composer James Horner as an instrumental theme for Titanic. Director James Cameron was initially reluctant to end the film with a pop song, but changed his mind after hearing a vocal demo.

• Dion did not initially want to record the song. Her husband, Rene Angelil, persuaded her to make a demo, which was recorded in a single take.

• A director's cut released online in January 2018 included previously unseen footage from the shoot, including Dion walking toward the ship's bow and a digitally altered sequence placing her inside the film world.
