Synopsis

Bloodhound Gang perform in the cafeteria of a retirement home, where the residents sit motionless and seemingly oblivious to the band's increasingly unruly show. Jimmy Pop abandons the stage for a series of bizarre dances, exaggerated faces, and provocative antics among the tables. Eventually, the seniors wake up to the performance and transform the quiet facility into a chaotic rock concert, joining the band as they leave. The closing gag reveals that the home is reserved for deaf residents, explaining their delayed reaction.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video opens with Jimmy Pop playing "Pat Minfield," a parody of MTV host Matt Pinfield. The character appears on a spoof program called "120 Midgets," riffing on Pinfield's association with "120 Minutes."

• Matt Pinfield reportedly enjoyed the impersonation rather than taking offense. Jimmy Pop had already performed the impression for him before the video was released.

• The song's famous chorus reworks the chant from Rock Master Scott & the Dynamic Three's 1984 track "The Roof Is on Fire." Bloodhound Gang slowed the idea down and built an entirely different song around it.

• "Fire Water Burn" was the first single from "One Fierce Beer Coaster." The video was later included on the band's 2003 DVD "One Fierce Beer Run," alongside other videos from the album.

• The video's final joke depends on the audience misunderstanding the residents' silence: the apparent lack of enthusiasm is explained by the home's deaf-resident designation.
