Synopsis

In a stark post-apocalyptic world, Duran Duran are captured and displayed as part of a brutal industrial spectacle. Simon Le Bon is bound to a giant windmill while the other band members endure surreal machinery, flames, masked figures, and aggressive performers. The video builds a nightmarish vision of captivity and rebellion, combining concert-style performance with elaborate science-fiction imagery. Its Mad Max-like setting, striking costumes, and oversized production turn "The Wild Boys" into a short-form dystopian fantasy rather than a conventional performance clip.

• The video grew out of an abandoned plan to make a feature film based on William S. Burroughs' 1971 novel *The Wild Boys: A Book of the Dead*. The band wrote the song with that proposed film in mind.

• After the film project collapsed, its research, costumes, set designs, and visual concepts were adapted for the music video.

• Nile Rodgers produced the recording, which was created as new material for Duran Duran's 1984 live album *Arena*.
