Synopsis

Inside an indoor swimming pool, a team of synchronized swimmers performs a precisely timed routine to KAMP!'s electronic pop track. The video moves between views above the water and submerged images, turning the swimmers' bodies, splashes and formations into fluid graphic patterns. Slow motion emphasizes the graceful physicality of the routine, while the pool's architecture gives the performance a stark, cinematic setting. Rather than following a conventional storyline, the clip visualizes "Melt" through repetition, weightlessness and the seamless transition between human movement and water.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed at the swimming pool inside Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science.

• The performers included members of the AZS AWF Poznan synchronized swimming team. Model and "Top Model" contestant Honorata Wojtkowska also appeared among the swimmers.

• Underwater filming required specialist equipment and techniques. The production used a DeepRED underwater housing, with Artur Zwierzchowski serving as underwater cameraman.

• The main footage was shot on a RED One MX. The first section used 60 frames per second at 2K, while the second was filmed at 25 frames per second at 4K.

• A Sony FS-700 was used by the second unit for a splash filmed at 200 frames per second.

• "Melt" was nominated at the 2013 Yach Film Festival in the Screenplay and Grand Prix categories.

• The video helped give the track a wider international profile ahead of the "Melt" EP, which included remixes by Zimmer, Xinobi and Midnight Magic.
