Synopsis

A waitress arrives at work after a painful argument with her boyfriend, who leaves her at the restaurant in tears. As "Love Is Gone" begins playing, her sadness gives way to an imagined burst of energy. The customers, staff, and surroundings seem to fall into the rhythm as the diner turns into a spontaneous dance party. For a few minutes, music allows her to escape the breakup and transform the mood around her. When the song ends, the fantasy fades and her loneliness returns.

Factoids & Trivia

  • Kelly Thiebaud plays the waitress at Cindy's Coffee Shop. She later appeared in three other David Guetta videos connected with the *Pop Life* era: "Baby When the Light," "Delirious," and "Tomorrow Can Wait."
  • The video was filmed in Los Angeles in March 2007 and released in June of that year. The production was handled by the French company Cosa for EMI/Virgin France.
  • The restaurant setting turns the track into an in-story listening experience: once the song plays, ordinary work and customer behavior give way to a temporary communal celebration.
  • The ending deliberately undercuts the carefree dance sequence. The restaurant returns to normal, emphasizing that the music has offered only a brief escape from heartbreak.
  • "Love Is Gone" became one of Guetta's early international crossover successes, reaching No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 98 on the Billboard Hot 100.
