Synopsis

Oliver Pocher turns a World Cup fan anthem into a comic sports spectacle. Playing several exaggerated figures associated with a press box, he delivers the song with mock-serious enthusiasm before the video shifts to energetic performance scenes surrounded by supporters in German team colors. The presentation combines football broadcast imagery, fan culture and Pocher's deliberately over-the-top stage persona, creating a celebratory clip aimed at the atmosphere of Germany's 2006 home World Cup.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Schwarz und Weiss" was released as a single on April 28, 2006, ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Germany.

• The video uses Pocher in several press-box speaker and commentator-style roles, then contrasts those comic appearances with his performance in front of Germany supporters.

• The song became the official fan anthem of the DFB Fan Club and reached No. 3 on the German singles chart.

• The track is a German adaptation of "Black & White" by Frameless featuring The German Football Fans.

• "Schwarz und Weiss" became closely associated with the German national team. For many years, it was played in stadiums after Germany scored, remaining part of the team's goal-music tradition for roughly twelve years.

• The single achieved gold status in Germany and became Pocher's most successful musical release.

• The DFB eventually retired the song from its goal-music rotation in 2018. In 2019, an online fan vote selected Zombie Nation's "Kernkraft 400" as its replacement.
