Synopsis

311 perform "Creatures (For a While)" as their music fuels a wave of unruly energy across Los Angeles. Fans break loose in unexpected places, disrupting a basketball game, a bingo hall, and a yoga class while the band plays on. The video turns the song's idea of temporarily abandoning restraint into a playful series of public disturbances, mixing performance footage with scenes of ordinary people transforming into uninhibited, mischievous "creatures."

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was made for "Creatures (For a While)," the first single from 311's 2003 album *Evolver*.

• The production used approximately 150 fans as extras, giving the crowd scenes a deliberately spontaneous and chaotic feel.

• Filming took place at Zimmerman Warehouse and in other locations around the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles.

• The song's title came from an old punk-rock poster Nick Hexum remembered seeing. Its phrase about becoming "creatures for a while" suggested the idea of using music as an outlet for blowing off steam.

• The video's public disruptions mirror the song's live reputation. "Creatures (For a While)" became a high-energy concert favorite and was used for many years as one of 311's closing numbers.
