Synopsis
A young boy sets out across a handmade fantasy landscape after encountering a mysterious fairy. Guided through a series of changing worlds, he travels by sea, ship, flying carpet and enchanted forest, moving from one strange tableau to another. The journey has the feeling of a child's dream, combining wonder, uncertainty and discovery. As the boy follows the fairy onward, the video presents imagination as a route toward love, inspiration and something beyond the limits of his confined world.
Factoids & Trivia
- The video was built as a handcrafted miniature world rather than a digital fantasy setting. Cardboard and styrofoam are transformed into the sea, a ship, a flying carpet and an enchanted forest.
- The boy is represented by a string-operated puppet, reinforcing the video's deliberately analog, childlike aesthetic.
- The concept was inspired by the director's response to the song as a journey back into childhood. The boy was conceived as living in a narrow world of deprivation and following the fairy toward a distant hope or dream.
- The video's visual language matches the mystical atmosphere associated with the album "Mador Feyot," whose themes include fairies, angels, lights and other fantastical imagery.
- Ilya Marcus handled cinematography, while Naama Zohar served as art director. The illustrations were created by Liora Zemelman, with graphic design by Ziv Regev.
- "Mador Feyot" was released as the title track from Fortis' album of the same name. The song was written by Rami Fortis, with music by Fortis, Noa Eili and Danny Evron-Hadani.
