Synopsis

A torrent of pixelated forms, neon flashes, and geometric structures pulses in time with Machinedrum's restless electronic track. The imagery shifts between abstract corridors, fragmented landscapes, and rapidly mutating digital shapes, creating the impression of moving through a computer-generated dream city. There is no conventional narrative or central character; instead, the video turns rhythm, texture, and visual distortion into the subject. Its disorienting edits and reactive graphics suggest an unstable journey through the imagined world of Vapor City.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was created for "Eyesdontlie," the first single from Machinedrum's 2013 album *Vapor City*. The single was released on Ninja Tune in July 2013, ahead of the album's September release.

• The visuals were built by Weirdcore using the track's MIDI data and stems. This allowed the animation to respond directly to the song's rhythms and separate musical elements rather than simply accompanying the finished audio.

• The production credits list Lauren Kinley as illustrator and animator, with additional animation by Pavel Zoch, Vlada Miklus, and Alan Hawers. Ninja Tune's Maddy Salvage commissioned the project.
