Synopsis

Set against the dark, green landscape of the Santa Monica Mountains, "Basic Instinct" follows three costumed performers as they move through a dreamlike series of slow-motion gestures, jumps, and suspended poses. Dressed in vivid pink outfits with matching wigs and sculptural headpieces, the dancers appear both playful and otherworldly. Their isolated movements, framed by rugged hills and open sky, create an abstract visual counterpart to The Acid's intimate blend of electronic pulses, acoustic guitar, and processed vocals.

• The video was made in collaboration with WIFE, a Los Angeles performance group known for combining contemporary dance, custom costumes, unusual headpieces, and surreal visual presentation.

• RY X said the band brought WIFE into the project before anything else because the visual aesthetic was considered an essential part of the music rather than a separate promotional layer.
