Client Liaison - Feeling

Music Video

Wiki

Synopsis

A gallery of suburban characters wrestles with private emotions while Client Liaison perform with grand, deliberately melodramatic conviction. A shady tycoon, a ballerina, and a housewife exercising at home are shown caught in their own worlds, each seemingly searching for release from feelings they cannot ignore. The polished presentation, expressive poses, and glossy styling turn ordinary frustration into an extravagant late-1980s pop fantasy, balancing sincerity with the duo's knowingly theatrical image.

Factoids & Trivia

  • Released in October 2013, "Feeling" was Client Liaison's second recorded single, following "End of the Earth."
  • The video was presented as a more polished, higher-definition production than the duo's debut clip.
  • Its characters include a shady tycoon, a ballerina, and a housewife performing home exercise, reinforcing the song's theme of people trying to process their emotions.
  • The imagery draws on Client Liaison's fascination with late-1980s Australian executive culture, including references associated with Ansett and businessman Christopher Skase.
  • Unlike the more openly satirical "End of the Earth," "Feeling" was described by the band as a genuinely heartfelt pop ballad.
  • The single was part of a planned run of three releases designed to showcase different sides of Client Liaison's sound before their debut album.
  • "Feeling" later appeared on the duo's self-titled 2014 EP, alongside "End of the Earth," "Queen," "Pretty Lovers," "Feed the Rhythm," and "Groove the Physical."
  • Client Liaison launched the single with headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney in October 2013.
