Synopsis
In this animated fairy tale, Eva Milner wanders into a mysterious forest populated by ghostly creatures and underground workers. Hoping to escape ordinary life, she waits for a raccoon who is supposed to guide her to his hidden lair. She imagines becoming his wife and starting a family, but the raccoon never arrives. Left alone in the enchanted woods, she eventually turns away and waits for a bus back toward the city, uncertain whether it can offer her a place to belong.
Factoids & Trivia
- The video was released on October 31, 2011, accompanying "Wait For My Raccoon" from Hundreds' self-titled debut album.
- Although the raccoon is central to the story, the animal never actually appears. The character is represented through a raccoon hat, reinforcing the video's strange, dreamlike approach.
- The video's creators described the story as an unhappy love story about an absent man, rather than a literal tale about a woman and an animal.
- Its visual concept was deliberately shaped as a modern fairy tale, combining working dwarves, forest spirits and a childhood-like fantasy world.
- "Wait For My Raccoon" won first prize in the communication design category at the 2013 Designpreis Brandenburg.
- The project was also nominated for the 2015 German Design Award.
- The song later appeared in a reworked version on the 2011 release "Variations", including the "Sheahan Drive Version."
