Synopsis

"Treat Me Right" turns a simple romantic plea into a delirious journey through vintage romance-novel imagery. Heroes and heroines drift through outer space, medieval adventures, spy thrillers and exaggerated action scenarios, with each scene unfolding like a rapidly flipped stack of lurid paperback covers. As the visuals grow increasingly absurd, swooning lovers give way to sharks, bulls, guns and other over-the-top dangers. The playful collage mirrors the track's escalating drops and irreverent energy.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was presented as "an epic trip through space, time, and romance novels," using the exaggerated visual language of old paperback romance covers as its central idea.

• Its imagery deliberately mixes romance with unrelated pulp genres, including Highlander-style fantasy, superspy action and comic-book violence. That clash gives the video its deliberately ridiculous tone.

• The project was produced by Amos LeBlanc, with animation assistance from Jeremy Bondy.

• The official video appeared in May 2013 through Dim Mak and Potato Will Eat You, a music-video channel associated with Diplo, Skrillex and A-Trak.

• The track was already receiving attention before the video appeared. It had been premiered by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 and was being played or supported by artists including Diplo, TNGHT, Major Lazer and Flosstradamus.

• "Treat Me Right" was the first official release from Keys N Krates on Dim Mak and later appeared on the trio's 2013 EP "SOLOW."
