Synopsis

"Nonsens" follows two children as they drift through an ordinary neighborhood and turn familiar places into a private world of play, movement, and youthful excitement. The boy and girl run through schoolyards, parks, and residential surroundings, gradually forming a close bond that can be read as friendship or an early crush. Their energetic movements give the video a spontaneous, carefree feel, while Lars Vaular remains mostly outside the story, appearing only briefly rather than performing at its center.

Factoids & Trivia

• The official music video was released on June 18, 2013, ahead of Vaular's album "1001 Hjem," where "Nonsens" appears as a track.

• The two young leads were Rania Louhibi and Johan Tomta Stronen. At the time of the video's promotion, they were identified as 11 and 10 years old.

• Both children were chosen through a dance audition. Their movement and natural chemistry became central to the video's youthful, unpolished character.

• Vaular launched a "Dans Nonsens" competition around the release, inviting fans to submit recordings of themselves dancing to the song for a chance to appear in a follow-up video.

• The song was an exception within the writing process for "1001 Hjem." Vaular said the beat came first and immediately pulled the lyrics and vocals out of him, rather than being built around a pre-existing lyrical idea.
