Synopsis

The Horrors appear in performance shots that repeatedly dissolve into a shifting field of psychedelic color, shadows and overlapping images. Faces and instruments move in and out of focus as the band seem to emerge from, and disappear back into, the visual haze. Bright flares, layered exposures and constantly changing textures give the clip a dreamlike, disorienting quality, matching the song's patient build and expansive atmosphere rather than presenting a conventional narrative.

• "Still Life" was the first single from The Horrors' third album, "Skying", which was released in the UK on July 11, 2011.

• The production was completed in just eight days, from the initial treatment through delivery. Producer Sam Kennedy said the band wanted something bizarre and thought-provoking that could be made on an extremely limited budget.

• The clip's visual approach centers on perception: performance footage is distorted through swirling color, shadows, changes in focus and overlapping exposures.

• The production was handled by Decoy, with Sam Kennedy producing. The color work was completed at The Mill.
