Synopsis
Teebs' "Moments" unfolds as a constantly shifting visual journey through urban and natural landscapes. Smoke repeatedly floods the frame, obscuring one setting before revealing another, so that buildings, roads, open spaces and atmospheric vistas seem to dissolve into one another. Rather than following a conventional narrative, the video creates a dreamlike chain of fleeting images, matching the track's delicate, spacious mood with a visual language built around disappearance, transformation and the feeling of passing through one moment into the next.
Factoids & Trivia
- The video was made using more than 200 smoke bombs. The smoke is not simply an atmospheric effect; it forms the central transition device, allowing each landscape to fade into the next.
- The visuals were created for "Moments," a track from Teebs' debut album, "Ardour," which was released by Brainfeeder in 2010.
- The clip was presented in connection with dublab's "A LABRAT MATINEE."
- The video was also associated with the Vimeo Awards and Festival, the Oakland Great Wall, and the Rio Curta Cinema Short Film Festival in 2012.
- Its central visual idea is deliberately simple but technically demanding: landscapes appear to transform continuously, giving the short the impression of one uninterrupted passage rather than a sequence of conventional edits.
- The video's soft, handmade-looking transitions helped it reach beyond a standard music-video audience. It was featured in the "edit" issue of iDn Magazine.
