Synopsis

Two people move through separate lives marked by solitude, each absorbed in a world that appears complete on its own. The video places their experiences side by side, finding strangeness and beauty in ordinary moments. As the imagery develops, the distance between them begins to dissolve, and their isolated realities gradually overlap. What emerges is a quiet visual meditation on connection: sometimes the absence of another person is invisible until that person enters your life and fills it.

• "The Salt" was released as a single on May 24, 2013, before appearing on There's Talk's debut EP, "Tiny Strands," released on August 6, 2013.

• The video was funded through an Indiegogo campaign.

• Sara Zadeh and Alexzandria Jade portray the two central characters.

• Marta Dymek served as the director of photography and also handled the editing and color work, giving the project a notably unified visual style.

• The production used practical fog effects alongside visual effects by Akin Bilgic and Teyler Kalin.

• Set photography was provided by Anastasiia Sapon, with behind-the-scenes images made available alongside the video.

• There's Talk was an Oakland, California, trio consisting of Olivia Lee, Kellen Balla, and Young Lee. The band's music at the time combined dream pop with electronic and folk-influenced elements.
