Synopsis
A young boy turns on his television and finds himself watching MS MR perform "Think of You." The performance is surrounded by a barrage of brightly colored images, retro television fragments, eccentric characters, and surreal visual interruptions. As the broadcast grows more intense, the boy becomes overwhelmed by the psychedelic spectacle and is eventually pulled into the television world himself. The video turns an ordinary night of TV viewing into a kaleidoscopic fantasy that blends pop performance with an absurd, nostalgic broadcast aesthetic.
Factoids & Trivia
- MS MR described the video as the clearest and most complete expression of the aesthetic they were developing at the time.
- The duo viewed their earlier videos for "Hurricane" and "Fantasy" as atmospheric introductions, while "Think of You" gave them an opportunity to present their personalities and their creative world more directly.
- The concept was inspired by the public-access television program "TV Party." Rather than recreate the original show, the video reimagines its chaotic energy and low-budget television language through a vivid, modern pop lens.
- The shoot included many of MS MR's friends. The band recalled the set as deliberately chaotic, with people being brought into scenes spontaneously instead of following a rigid performance-only setup.
- The video was intended to feel more personal than the duo's earlier montage-driven clips, partly because it presents the New York community surrounding the band.
- Its visual mix of 1980s television references, saturated colors, strange costuming, and rainbow-colored hair helped reinforce MS MR's early reputation for treating music, fashion, and video as parts of one larger artistic world.
