Synopsis

Edwin's "Alive" turns its life-affirming message into an extended celebration of adventure and the outdoors. The singer is shown taking part in a rapid succession of exhilarating activities, including skydiving, snowboarding, mountain biking, trail running, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins and hang gliding. These images are intercut with performance footage of Edwin singing directly to camera, giving the video the feel of an oversized travel montage built around the simple pleasure of being alive.

• "Alive" was released as a single from Edwin's 1999 debut solo album, "Another Spin Around the Sun."

• The song helped revive interest in the album and pushed Edwin beyond the harder alternative-rock identity associated with his former band, I Mother Earth.
