Synopsis

Asked to pick up milk from a nearby store, Xzibit sets off through Los Angeles, greeting friends and moving through the neighborhood with casual confidence. Along the way, he finds a $100 bill, performs briefly at a local concert, and passes a series of increasingly chaotic incidents, including a carjacking, shooting, bombing, and store looting. None of the disruption changes his focus. After returning home with the milk, he is immediately sent back out for hot sauce.

Factoids & Trivia

• Xzibit came up with the idea for the video as a single continuous shot, an approach he wanted to use to make a stronger impression within Loud Records.

• The apparent one-take structure was assembled from 13 separate shots. Xzibit later said the production was completed in about two days.

• The exploding-car sequence was one of the video's major set pieces. Flavor Flav, who is referenced in the song, happened to show up and was included in the finished video.

• The ending dedication honors Michael Lucero, the music video director who had recently died. Lucero's company had previously worked on Xzibit's "Paparazzi" and "The Foundation."

• The video became one of Xzibit's early career breakthroughs and spent six weeks at No. 1 on BET's Rap City Top 10 countdown.

• The single was released in 1998 as the first single from Xzibit's second album, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz. It reached No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the Hot Rap Singles chart.
