Synopsis

U2 and B.B. King share the stage in a performance-centered video drawn from the Rattle and Hum film. The footage moves from an afternoon soundcheck at Fort Worth's Tarrant County Convention Center to the evening concert, where King joins the band for the song's live debut. Bono works the crowd while King supplies the blues authority at the center of the collaboration, and the clip captures the informal chemistry between the musicians as a new song becomes a live event.

• The video was filmed in Fort Worth, Texas, on November 24, 1987, during the concert that gave "When Love Comes to Town" its live debut.

• Much of the clip was lifted directly from the Rattle and Hum movie. It includes U2 and B.B. King rehearsing during the soundcheck before the concert.

• The audio in the soundcheck section is based on live material recorded that afternoon rather than simply using the finished studio recording.

• B.B. King and his band joined U2 onstage during the encore. "When Love Comes to Town" was the final song before U2 closed the show with "40."

• Bono wrote the song with B.B. King in mind. The studio recording was made at Sun Studio in Memphis during the Rattle and Hum sessions.
