Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed at Park Royal Studios in London, using a combination of green-screen work and library footage to create its snowy fantasy setting.

• The production team built sets for both the Ice Queen's palace and the barn visited during the group's journey.

• A friend of the production team who worked as a ski instructor was brought in to help the group look more natural during the skiing scenes.

• The villains' arguments in their chariot were deliberately included to make the story even more cheesy, silly, and fun.

• The video was made on a limited budget and schedule. Its visual effects were later described as having suffered from a lack of time for post-production.

• "Heartbeat" was released in November 1998 as part of a double A-side single with Steps' cover of "Tragedy." The release eventually reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom.
