Synopsis

Oasis perform amid the bombed-out ruins of Beckton Gas Works, surrounded by an increasingly imposing military presence. As the band plays, helicopters sweep across the sky and land around the site, while smoke flares and a growing crowd transform the desolate landscape into a chaotic spectacle. Liam Gallagher remains the visual focal point, delivering the song with characteristic swagger. In the closing moments, the band boards a helicopter and disappears into the industrial haze, leaving the video's unsettling world behind.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed at Beckton Gas Works in east London, a location also used for Stanley Kubrick's *Full Metal Jacket*.

• The production received assistance from the British Army, which supplied Westland Lynx helicopters. The arrangement later attracted criticism because Oasis subsequently objected to the unauthorized use of "Morning Glory" in an Army recruitment video.

• The apparently huge helicopter formation was created using only two helicopters. Split-screen editing, repeated passes, and carefully planned camera angles made the fleet appear much larger.

• The original video was shot on 35mm film, using a scale and visual treatment closer to a feature film than a typical music video of the period.

• For the 2016 reissue of *Be Here Now*, the original production team returned to the archive footage. The video was rescanned and re-graded in high definition, with previously unseen material added and the edit matched to Noel Gallagher's shorter "NG's 2016 Rethink" of the song.

• Liam's snorkel parka and custom-made sunglasses became two of the video's most recognizable style details.
