Synopsis

Mya confronts a boyfriend whose apparent infidelity has finally exhausted her patience. After discovering evidence of another woman and receiving evasive answers, she decides to end the relationship and move on. The video places her breakup story in a youthful school setting, balancing scenes of Mya singing and dancing with rap sections from Noreaga and Raekwon. Its hip-hop remix presentation also connects the song to the crime drama Belly, incorporating imagery from the film.

Factoids & Trivia

• The Noreaga and Raekwon version is commonly identified as "Movin' Out," but it also appears on some releases and music databases as the "University Mix" of "Movin' On."

• The remix was issued in connection with the 1998 soundtrack to Belly, and the video uses footage from the film alongside newly shot material.

• The original album version of "Movin' On" featured no rap guests. The better-known single campaign included a separate version with Silkk the Shocker, while the Noreaga and Raekwon remix gave the song a more explicitly East Coast hip-hop direction.

• The video belongs to the early period of Mya's career, when her presentation combined R&B vocals, dance performance, school-themed settings, and crossover hip-hop collaborations.
