Synopsis

Ministry's "Reload" video turns the assassination of John F. Kennedy into an absurdist political parody. The action recreates the motorcade and shooting while recasting the historical figures through deliberately exaggerated performances. Al Jourgensen appears in several roles, including Jackie Kennedy, Jesus, and Fidel Castro, while another band member plays JFK. A female performer evokes Marilyn Monroe, adding another layer to the video's deliberately chaotic blend of conspiracy imagery, celebrity mythology, and dark comedy.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Reload" was released in connection with Ministry's 1996 album "Filth Pig," which also produced the videos for "The Fall," "Lay Lady Lay," and "Brick Windows."

• The video was reportedly unusual even by Ministry's standards because it treated the JFK assassination as broad black comedy rather than straightforward political commentary.

• Al Jourgensen's multiple roles include Jackie O, Jesus, and Fidel Castro. The casting heightens the video's intentionally cheap, theatrical, and irreverent tone.

• The video was described by Ministry archive sources as unreleased for a period, despite being made as a promotional clip. It later appeared on the 2000 home-video compilation "Tapes of Wrath."

• "Reload" was also issued in an extended form known as "Reload (Long Edit)," which appeared alongside "The Fall" material in the 1996 single cycle.

• The clip is one of the more overtly comic videos associated with the "Filth Pig" era, a period generally characterized by slower, heavier, and less sample-driven music than Ministry's earlier work.
