• "When I'm Not" predates the video. An earlier version appeared on the Magnolias' 1988 album "For Rent," while the version associated with the clip was included on "Off the Hook," released in 1992.

• The song is track eight on "Off the Hook" and was written by John Freeman. It became one of the band's signature songs and is often singled out for its catchy, singalong quality.

• The Magnolias made two videos for "Off the Hook": "When I'm Not" and "Hello or Goodbye." According to a band history reproduced by music writer Piero Scaruffi, MTV declined both videos.
